First, loving the PLAYER tee-shirt. Second, I’m totally digging Issa Rae’s professional drive and creative vision. I respect her for listening to her own voice and having faith in her dream. And, it seems she has the right people around her. That is so important.

  • Met Issa at Vidcon, and she was cool and totally down to earth. Keep doing what you do.

  • 1. Have you ever experienced prejudice in your life? Yes.

    2. Do you stand up for what you truly believe in? Yes, for the most part. There are certain situations where I shy away from standing up for myself and defending the principles I stand for. #momentofhonesty #truthbetold

    3. What did you find most insightful about this interview? The fact that Issa shared her story of how IssaRae Productions SPRUNG to life. Her motivations, and how she found purpose for the life she leads. I liked it. And the fact that she shared her favourite sex position.

    4. Share the best advice you’ve received. “Labour for learning before you grow old, for learning is better than silver and gold. Silver and gold will vanish away, but a GOOD education will NEVER decay.”~ A Jamaican gem. #trayvon

Issa Rae seems so nice! I’ve never seen her show before, but…might start now! Also, have you guys ever thought of maybe inviting Tavi Gevinson on the show? I think she’d have some interesting things to say.

I loved this interview because Issa Rae told the truth about the entertainment industry and Amanda let her do it. In most interviews nowadays the journalist never actually wants to hear a legitimate answer to their questions. Issa Rae is a shinning example of all that is beautiful about freedom.

Hi Amanda, I really liked what you and Issa said about how “web content with value” rises to the top. I was wondering if you had any tips on making a web series of value. I produced a short documentary and am launching a web series later this summer through my blog lampinhand.com. Any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for The Conversation, it’s such an inspiring series.
