Have you always been such a kind person?
Well, I am very grateful to be called a kind person especially by you, the kindest of humans. My biggest fear is that I’m not a good person. I think in a past life I burned a village down and have never recovered from the guilt. But, really thank you.

Why did you start HelloGiggles and what do you love about it?
We (Zooey Deschanel, Molly McAleer and I) started Hellogiggles out of a personal desire to have a home online that allowed us to be expressive yet humorous. I love that we are able to be a destination for women (and men!) of all ages to discuss relevant, not just topical, stories with a positive light. We are very careful to be respectful yet informative.

How do you feel about your body?
I have a newfound love for my body ever since I turned 30. I used to not even look in the mirror and thought, “well, if I don’t look I can’t be upset.” Now, I make an effort to look in the mirror and compliment myself. It’s not easy but I think it’s exhausting to not enjoy what you are given. I had to change a bunch of my food and exercise habits, that I think I avoided doing all these years in fear of letting go of the negative thoughts. But now these new habits help me feel more balanced and grateful.

What do you look for in a partner?
I want a partner that stands for something, that wants to educate himself and constantly evolve. I look for a partner that practices kindness to others above all.

Do you think its possible to have a BFF who is also a lover?
I think that ultimately the greatest of relationships are the greatest of friendships so I think yes. But, I think that works when the end goals are the same.

Who was your fave Conversation lady?
Amanda de Cadenet is my favorite Conversation lady for many reasons. I will say this from the bottom of my heart that no woman has been more influential to me during Hellogiggles journey than Amanda. Her constant openness and support to me and all the readers and viewers is inspirational. I enjoy watching Amanda navigate through this journey with the wisdom she carries.

Why are female friendships so important?
There is a certain bond and intimacy that women can share that has been seen throughout time. I enjoy the kindness and spirituality woman can provide each other.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I would change my need to always know. I want to be in the now and not figure out the how. Clearly, I go to a lot of therapy to use those terms.

Hilary or Michelle?
Hilary, I think she is not acknowledged nearly enough and I can’t help think it’s because of our culture’s need to make woman these fashion figures and she doesn’t fit that mold.

What would you tell your 14-year-old self?
I would tell my 14-year-old self that fighting with your parents and friends might feel like the end of the world now, but loving your friends and family will be your whole world growing up.

Hey Sophia! Thanks for answering these for me.
You are the best… I hope you know that.
Love your BFF,
Amanda x
