Yelling to the Sky: A Film by Victoria Mahoney

Yelling to the Sky: A Film by Victoria Mahoney

BY Amanda de Cadenet

I must start with a disclaimer that I consider Victoria Mahoney to be my sister, so I am as biased as you can get. But, as most of you know I am also always honest with you. When I say this film is one of a kind, it really, truly is special. Yelling to the Sky is written, directed and produced by women on a budget so small is simply unbelievable.

The film follows a family of girls growing up in New York City in a mixed-race, alcoholic home. The story enters their hearts, minds and spirits in a way I have rarely seen. If you happen to be in NYC please go see this movie and send me your feedback. For more information about where the film is showing go here.

I was impressed with the strength and honesty of both the writing and the performances in the film. Any ideas when it will be available for purchase?
